You may notice quite a few Santas in Old Pasadena this Saturday.
Are you up for a little evening jog? Day 215 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena shares with you an interesting new holiday pastime, Running with the Santas.
The running of the Santas is a Holiday Pub Tour that started a few years back with 40 Santas in Philadelphia. It has become a national phenomenon and year after year, more cities sign up to be part of this quirky holiday event. There are expected to be over 5,000 Santas taking part in the Philadelphia event this December.
Most often there are tickets sold for the event, and proceeds from the event benefit both local and national charities.
This year a running of the Santas will be taking place right here in Old Pasadena on Saturday, December 18th starting at 2:00 pm.
Please bring an unwrapped toy for a donation to Toys for Tots this holiday season.
♦ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Meeting location #1 Old Towne Pub, 66 N. Fair Oaks Avenue
♦ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Meeting location #2 The 35er, 12 E. Colorado Boulevard
The traditional 3 block run will take place at approximately 6:00 pm down Colorado Blvd. in Old Town Pasadena
♦ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Meeting location #3 Jake’s Burgers & Billiards, 38 W. Colorado Boulevard.
Remember, you need to dawn a holiday outfit to participate! Old St. Nick, Mrs. Claus, Santa’s Helper Elf, the choice is yours. Keep in mind, you may receive a lump of coal in your glass for non-participation. This could be a great way to entertain friends and loved ones visiting from out of town.
A burger from Jake’s will definitely hit the spot after your holiday trot! 😉
Have you ever participated in a Running of the Santas event before?
To all those taking part in this Saturday’s event, we wish you a safe holiday outing. We want all of the participants to remain on the Nice List this weekend!
