Have you tried Pho? It’s a Vietnamese broth style soup with rice noodles usually served with herbs and meat. Pho was it today for lunch! Thanks to Yelp reviews, I narrowed the restaurants down to a few in San Gabriel and ended up visiting Pho Super Bowl on Main for our 365 Things To Do In Pasadena® review.
Pho Super Bowl is located just a few blocks West of Mission Drive on Main Street in a corner center with plenty of parking. The restaurant was spacious and when we got there, quite late for lunch, after 3 pm, most patrons were enjoying steaming bowls of soup. The menu had over 20 different types of Pho and all at every reasonable prices. Most dishes were under $6.
Since this was our first time trying Pho, we ordered several dishes. We started off with Seafood Pho which was served with bean sprouts, herbs, slices of lime and chili peppers.
We followed that with their combo plate that had grilled shrimp and meat over vermicelli style rice noodles with a side of crushed peanuts, marinated carrots and fresh cucumbers. The meat and shrimp was ridiculously tasty – absolutely loved it! We were told to mix the noodles with all the sides and pour a sweet and sour type sauce over them. Delish!
Our final dish was grilled pork chop over rice with a side of cucumbers, marinated grated carrots, and tomato slices. The pork was prepared perfectly and the flavors were well balanced.
For dessert, Thai Iced Tea with Boba finished off the meal. It wasn’t as sweet as usual, but very refreshing. Little bowls of tapioca were given along with the check – compliments of the restaurant.
So if you’re in the mood to try something new or are looking for one of the best Pho restaurants in LA, per one of the Yelp reviewers, you might want to give Pho Super Bowl a try.
