Day 338: Wild West Days at the Arboretum

Back in the late 1800s when Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin owned the land that would become the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, it was a time of ranch hands and gamblers as well as style makers of Victorian sensibilities.  365 Things To Do Around Pasadena invites you to join a celebration of the rough and refined days of Lucky Baldwin Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1.

And, while you are there, take a look around Arcadia’s Peacock Village.

Western Entertainment:  The Shadow Mountain Band, Pam Loe & Hipshot, Barn Dances featuring The Moonlight Trio, trick roping by Hermanos Banuelos Charro Team, calliopes, carriage rides, a root beer saloon, Meet the Horse, games and crafts for children and much more.

Victorian highlights:  Queen Anne Cottage open house, Victorian Town Folk from Pasadena, tours of the Coach Barn, Santa Anita Depot and Rose Garden.
