Now that the warm summer weather has finally decided to roll in to town, we can enjoy being out and about  in our beautiful California sunshine, one of our favorite 365 Things To Do in Pasadena™. 🙂

If you find yourself strolling around Old Pasadena and are in the mood for a delicious salad, we recommend a visit to Saladish.

New to Old Town, with their soft opening having taken place this April, Saladish is a great place to stop in for a light lunch.

When you walk in, you get the feeling that you’ve just entered into a fresh and cool garden.

I was lucky enough to avoid any major lunch time crowding.

You have a few options to choose from at Saladish.  You can choose to create your own salad with a an amazing array of topping selections or place an order for a specialty salad, specialty wrap, or an oven baked potatoes.

I opted for the Turkey Bacon Avocado Specialty Salad.

It came with romaine lettuce, turkey, bacon, avocado, diced tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, croutons, and ranch dressing.

I know it doesn’t seem like the most low calories choice for a salad, but let me tell you it was delicious!

If you choose to create your own salad, you get to start with your choice of greens: romaine baby spinach, mixed baby greens. Your choice of croutons, tortilla strips or wonton strips and your choice of dressing.  All salads come with a side of bread.

Now depending on what you would like to add to your salad, toppings can run you anywhere from .50 to $2.25 each.

A little word for the wise.  I think should I have chosen to create my own salad and added all of the ingredients that were in my specialty salad I probably would have saved myself .70 cents. Look carefully, it may be just a tad less expensive, to create your own salad vs. ordering a specialty salad.

Same rules apply for the wraps, any of the fixings that you would use to add to your salad can be added to a wrap and you get the choice of a flour, wheat, spinach, garlic herb or jalapeno cheddar tortilla.

I have not yet sampled any of he wraps or the oven baked potatoes, but I can say that the ingredients in my salad were very fresh and I would definitely stop in again for a lunch time salad fix.
