We love FREE summer concerts and Pasadena’s One Colorado is offering a series featuring three singer-songwriters for intimate musical performances in the outdoor courtyard. The concerts are free and begin at 8pm. Seating is available first-come first-served basis and based on my experience fills up pretty quickly. So… get there early if you’d like to get a seat.
Here’s the line up starting this Saturday:
Michelle Bloom – Saturday, August 13, 8 pm
Singer-songwriter Bloom’s music can be described as soulful Americana, acoustic praise, river hymns and enraptured poems. Her latest work, Fields of Attention, isa ten-song collection inspired by the belief that poetry and song are essential for human well-being.
Mia Doi Todd – Saturday, August 20, 8 pm
Los Angeles native Mia Doi Todd is a prolific singer-songwriter with a soulful and haunting voice. Todd’s 9th album, Cosmic Ocean Ship, has a warmth and depth that showcases her strong and intermittently delicate voice ability.
Katie Costello – Saturday, August 27, 8 pm
Deeply personal, Costello’s songs are impressionistic and beckon to the lonely, disconnected nature of our times. Her most recent release “Lamplight” (2011), produced by music guru Tony Berg (Jesca Hoop, Aimee Mann, Michael Penn), reflects her distinctively conversational, yet poetic lyrical approach.
