South Lake Business Association presents a series of Free Friday Concerts!

Savor the last spring evenings in May by listening to some sweet tunes during this family and pet-friendly event. Pick and choose from some of Southern California’s most talented artists below, that will take the stage between 5 pm and 7 pm in various locations on South Lake Avenue in Pasadena, featuring a wide range of music including Americana, world, folk, indie rock and Latin.

First out is indie-folk singer-songwriter Kyle Britton, performing his new emotionally evocative singles on May 6, at 455 S. Lake Ave (next to Paul Martin’s American Grill), followed by Americana rock singer Laura Jean Anderson who will bring us her beautifully mixed set of traditional soul and folk. 

Second concert on May 13th at 345 S. Lake Ave (next to Corner Bakery Café) starts with indie rock, jazz and experimental soul artist group, Nick Valentini Collective. Formed 6 months ago, they are rapidly making name for themselves in Southern California music scene. Los Angeles based musical collective Salt Petal, will bring some wonderful combination of Argentinian folk, Brazilian Tropicalia, Cumbia and up-tempo indie rock music.

On May 20th, Givers & Takers will perform two sets of theirup-tempo bliss rock at 345 S. Lake Ave (next to Corner Bakery Café). Givers & Takers have been featured on renowned music platforms including Indie Shuffle and All Things Go.

The Costa Rican singer-songwriter Meli Malavasi will wrap up the event, playing her unique blend of Latin pop and bluesy rock, on May 27th at the Corporate Center Pasadena (251 S. Lake Ave.). Meli Malavasi was recently dubbed the “Best Female Dance Artist” at the Indie Music Channel Awards.
