What’s NOT to do in Pasadena this weekend! Well, we have a small select list of things with quantity & quality to check out here in the Crown City for just this Saturday, June the 8th. Let us just rename it: Pasadena’s TO DO DAY!
Here’s the list, with brief descriptions & and links for much more, detailed information…
The 25th Anniversary of Zona Rosa Caffe! 12-11pm
In the Playhouse District on S. El Molino Avenue (btwn Colorado & Green)
The local coffeehouse opened last century, in 1994, and it’s still brewing strong, thankfully, in Pasadena’s Playhouse District! Join ZRC for their special day of action: music, art, culture, tea (and coffee) as Zona Rosa Caffe celebrates its 25th anniversary.
They’ll be joining their friends, the Pasadena Playhouse and the Playhouse District, in the celebration with Playhouse Block Party! And, YES, they will be featuring their famed Live Music in Their Alley!

bOLD Pasadena. Noon – 8pm
Throughout the Old Pasadena District.
The Old Pasadena Management District presents its annual “BoldPas: A Day of Art and Play in Old Pasadena,” from 12 to 8 p.m. The pedestrian alleyways of the district feature 16 temporary art installations by a variety of artists and hands-on activities for adults and children. The installations are the result of many creative proposals from LA-area artists. Artworks include a 50-foot canvas suspended above an alley, a sea of balloons that invites exploration, street artists transforming a wall with graffiti, murals, a pop-up tattoo parlor, shadow people who come to life and many more attractions. Admission to all activities and attractions is free. Visit the website for locations.
A highlight of Bold Pas is “Descubra” at the Armory Center for the Arts (145 N. Raymond Ave.) from 1-5pm. The program is created by the Smithsonian Latino Center to inspire the next generation of science, history, and cultural enthusiasts, it features free, hands-on art making activities for all ages, live ukulele performances and workshops and informal conversations with arts and science professionals.
