If you haven’t hit this joint, then you really haven’t been living! IN-N-OUT Burger is a fast food restaurant you have to try!
Day 95 of 365 Things To Do In Pasadena takes us to the best fast food restaurant in all of California: IN-N-OUT Burger.
IN-N-OUT Burger was first opened in California, and has now branched out to Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. California still remains the one state that has 199 IN-N-OUT locations (more than the other 3 states combined!).
Some locations have a drive-thru with minimal seating to none, while other locations have a drive-thru and a lot of seating. Either way, the place is ALWAYS BUSY. They get customers from 10:30 A.M. when they open to 1:00 A.M. (Fri. & Sat – they close at 1:30 A.M.) when they close!
IN-N-OUT Burger sounds like Mcdonalds, Burger King, or Wendy’s… but their food really doesn’t compare!
I come to IN-N-OUT at least 10 times a year. Yes, I know… I’m going to regret putting in all those calories one day, but I think it is totally worth it (…for now).
IN-N-OUT’s menu is simple: you can order a number 1, 2, or 3. The number 1 comes with a hamburger, fries, and a drink. The number 2 comes with a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. And last, but not least the number 3 comes with a double-double (only difference is in size: two beef patties, two cheese slices). They also sell sell signature shakes (100% pure ice cream – to die for!).
Every time I go to IN-N-OUT Burger I have a number 2 with grilled onions… and sometimes if I’m really on a roll, I’ll take the vanilla shake as well! I really come here for their fries… oh my gosh. They use fresh potatoes on the spot with 100% pure cholesterol free vegetable oil. They are the best fries I have ever had in my life, and that is not an exaggeration.
Then, there is the secret IN-N-OUT menu. You can order a animal style burger (burger of your choice, mustard-cooked beef patty, additional pickles, extra secret sauce with grilled onions). This item is for those of us that really want to go all out. You can also accompany your animal style burger with some animal FRIES! These are no ordinary fries. Secret sauce, onions, and cheese are generously covered over their fresh french fries.
For a more healthy alternative they have a protein style burger. This burger is wrapped in hand-leafed lettuce instead of a bun!
These are the secret items I see most often, but there are so many options you will see if you search online… I’ll leave a link of an entire secret IN-N-OUT Burger menu I found online for those of you interested: IN-N-OUT’S Secret Menu. Try asking the staff… see what they say!
Overall, IN-N-OUT Burger is one place a Pasadenean cannot pass up. Visit their location as soon as you have the chance!
There is one located on 2114 East Foothill Boulevard in Pasadena. At this specific location I believe they only have a couple of seats… it is mostly a drive-thru only. While the location on 1210 North Atlantic in Alhambra has a drive-thru, and lots of available seating (the one I always go to!).
