Day 148 of 365 Things to do in Pasadena sends you to take  in a night of comedy for great cause!

This year marks the 50th Anniversary for the Ice House Comedy Club, which is the oldest operating comedy club in America! Join the celebration, as they prepare for another All Star Comedy Show to benefit Hillsides, a Pasadena foster care charity that creates safe and loving environment for families living in Los Angeles County, and the USO.

The All Start Lineup is to Include:

Jay Leno host of the Tonight Show, Actor/Comedian Brad Garret, Showtime’s Gabriel Iglesias, Last Comic Standing Host Craig Robinson, NBC Meteorologist/Comedian Fritz Coleman and many, many more!

The Comedy Benefit takes place Sunday, October 1oth at 6:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium

The History of Hillsides:

Hillsides has always created safe places for children; strengthened families, provided special education; and advocated for children’s rights.

From its inception in 1913 as an Episcopal Orphanage, until its present-day status as a private, nonprofit foster care and treatment center, Hillsides has never wavered from its commitment to creating a safe place for children. Although it began as an orphanage, Hillsides now works to end the cycle of child abuse. Loving care, therapeutic healing, Special education, family crisis intervention and children’s rights advocacy are at the heart of the agency’s mission.  These priorities were created by the vision of Deaconess Evelyn Wile.  At Hillsides, children have a “safe place” to call home.  Today, the children’s charity in Pasadena is considered an official institution of the Los Angeles Diocese of the Episcopal Church.
