If you are looking for last minute Christmas gift ideas, The Soap Kitchen in Old Pasadena is definitely worth a visit. That’s exactly what I did yesterday when I was looking for a special gift for one of my friends.
The Soap Kitchen was opened by Dali Yu who after trying an all natural, hand made soap she received as a gift from her friend, was totally captivated. Dali dedicated herself to the study of the lost art of soap making.
As I walked into the store, my senses went into overdrive… the fresh smell of citrus and heather have the same calming effect as walking into a day spa. The Soap Kitchen is tastefully decorated and many gifts from small to large were displayed throughout the store.
In her kitchen at the back of the store, Dali was making all her delicious handmade soaps from scratch using only the finest essential oils and herbs to create an all natural multisensory experience, free from synthetic fragrances, and colors. The soaps have no preservatives with the main ingredient being olive oil.
Of course, you can find a great selection of soap bars for every type of skin type. From toning and exfoliating to invigorating and refreshing or just calm and soothing, there’s something her for everyone. Lip balms, dead-sea salt scrubs, man’s shaving soaps, bath salts and oils, shampoo bars and more can be perfectly combined to create a special gift.
Soapscriptions are also available, starting at $76 for a 6 month supply. It’s a perfect place for a luxurious gift for that someone special or if you just want to pamper yourself.
The gift was selected and beautifully wrapped and this brings me to Day 220 of 365 Things To Do In Pasadena. If you haven’t been to The Soap Kitchen, you definitely should put it on your list of things to do. And, if you have, let me know what your favorites are.
