As usual, Pasadena is overbooked with events to check out. So, just three recommendations for you to check out this evening. The first two are Free while the Wine event charges admission.
The wonderful Flower Pepper people are definitely giving us something TO DO in Pasadena this weekend.
Their equally great Flower Pepper Gallery in Old Town Pasadena is celebrating their 5th Anniversary with, not one – two shows – opening this Saturday afternoon!
FIVE YEARS with an Art Gallery!! Pasadena, particularly Old Town Pasadena is much better for having it.
Before even entering the gallery you’ll be met by the special window installations by Yetis & Friends, and Amy Van Gilder.
Part one is the anniversary show featuring such artists as Edith Waddell, Jaclyn Alderete, Mariam Keurjikian, Nicole Bruckman, Valerie Pobjoy,
Yejin Oh and many others! This exhibition will be featured in the back part of the gallery.
In the front, the very talented Roland Tamayo returns to the gallery with his very own show – Reflections.
Need creative/artistic/unique Christmas or other gifts? Then, you’ll want to visit the gallery Saturday or anytime before Christmas. Also, please take advantage of Flower Pepper’s 40% discount on select items contained in their shelves!
Note these new exhibitions open Saturday at 3pm and stay open until 7pm. These exhibition stays up until at least December 27th and here’s wishing & praying the gallery stays open for at least another 5 years!!

As the Flower Pepper shows wind down in Old Town Pasadena, you can head over to the Playhouse District where Walt Girdner’s Photography Studio & Gallery opens its new photo exhibit at 6pm!
“Light on Land” from Ding Kalis is the new photography exhibition opening tonite at Walt Girdner’s. Born in the Netherlands and raised in Switzerland, Ding Kalis came to California in 1973 to attend the Art Center College of Design.
The current show features a selection of Ding’s work of photos made on a trip through the coastal deserts of Namibia, the southwestern African nation bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the images seen here were taken from a small aircraft flying between 6,000 and 10,000 feet above desert and ocean.

To close out the evening, if you’re into wines & cuisine, you’ll definitely next want to visit the historic Hotel Constance in Pasadena beginning at 7pm tonite!
Once there, you’ll find their 2nd Wine Winter Wonderland happening with fine wines and delicious cuisine! And since it’s co-hosted by Chef Claud Beltran and Mr. Pasadena. The chef is a long-time favorite chef in Pasadena, and his co-host Mr. Pasadena was just named the “Best Local Personality” of the year by Pasadena Weekly!
And if wonderful food & drink wasn’t enough, you’ll be dancing this great night away with live music from a Jazz band! Being acquainted with some of the people behind this event tells me it just has to be a wonderful night!
But, hurry if you want a ticket to get into this! Ticket info at this eventbrite page: 2nd WWW Ticket Info
I don’t often buy wine, but if I do, I prefer it at the Hotel Constance. Stay Thirsty My Friends.
