Pasadena is a home for many and a place where we honor and celebrate our heroes, our neighbors, and our veterans especially on November 11. Veterans Day.

It is a day for our Veterans but most importantly also to celebrate their commitment to keep our families safe, their patriotism and love for our great country. Thus, Old Pasadena is ready to salute our veterans for their valiant efforts by putting together an event at the Pasadena Senior Center. At the event there will be a BBQ, Squadron Fly-Over at Pasadena City Hall, lunch, and entertainment by The Bob and Bernie Show. It’s a great place to bring the family and enjoy the friendly atmosphere that Pasadena has to offer.

The origination of November 11 as the national holiday started with the ending of World War I (The Great War), which was ended by the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. However, 7 months before this the fighting was ceased through an armistice between the Allied nations and Germany, which was on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month (November 11, 1918). Thus, in November 1919 a year later, President Wilson declared November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day! President Eisenhower then changed “Armistice Day” to “Veterans Day,” later that year on October 8^th.

If you decide to head out to the Veteran’s day event then you will be enchanted by seeing the glowing eyes of many observing the Squadron Fly-Over, friendly smiles, the sound of laughter and cheer and the smell of barbecue and music. In addition, there is always an array of restaurants to choose from for dinner or shopping areas to shop at as well.
