Coined as the “Media Capital of the World,” Burbank is a city in Los Angeles, California. It is located a few miles northeast of Hollywood and northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
Burbank is known for having a lot of entertainment and media production facilities including large companies like Warner Bros. Entertainment, Warner Music Group, Nickelodeon, and Insomniac Games.
Burbank is home to Bob Hope Airport, the largest commercial airport in the Los Angeles area in the 1930s until the Los Angeles International Airport was created and took over in 1946.

With origins that trace back to 1960, the Porto family left their home in Cuba, and started a cake business in a little 300 square foot bakery on Sunset Boulevard in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles where Rosa, the wife in the family, sold her delicious baked goods. Because of their increasing popularity and customer demand, Porto’s moved to a 2,000 square-foot facility in Glendale, and then even expanded to a 20,000 square-foot facility in Burbank in the 1990s. They are famous for their cakes, cheese rolls, guava and cheese strudels, and infamous potato palls.

This Bob’s Big Boy Restaurant is now considered a Historical Landmark in the area, and must be visited by avid burger fans and 50’s diner culture enthusiasts!
