The Holidays are fast approaching and present an opportunity to help those who are not so lucky to have a warm home, money for food, or the support of a family.  So we dedicate Day 157 of 365 Things To Do In Pasadena to the Union Station Homeless Services of San Gabriel.  Union Station offers a perfect way to get involved and help families and individuals in need enjoy a Holiday Meal.

For the past 30 years, Union Station Homeless Service has hosted annual Dinners-in-the-Park on Thanksgiving and Christmas day.   Serving over 8,500 meals annually, they bring a warm holiday meal to people who are homeless, senior citizens, people who are alone at the holidays or simply unable to afford a holiday meal.

Held in Pasadena’s Central Park, each year volunteers come together to serve a hearty meal and holiday cheer to our less fortunate community members.  Through donations of turkeys, hams, side dishes, desserts, toys at Christmas and the simple gift of your time, Union Station is grateful for and relies on volunteers and donors who make it possible.

As a group or an individual, you can make an impact on many peoples lives.  Whether you can donate food, your time or both, all support is welcome, needed and immensely appreciated.   Especially today, spread kindness, be generous and give what you can to bring joy to each other’s lives.
