Italian anyone?
Day 96 of 365 things to do in Pasadena takes us to Porta Via Italian Foods.
Located at One West California Blvd., just south of Old Pasadena, Porta Via is a quaint little Italian Eatery & Deli; and delightful place to stop in and enjoy lunch! With seating inside the deli as well as out on the patio, you’ll be able to enjoy and savor the delicious treats as soon as you purchase them. They may not last the trip home!
If you are heading in for lunch you can anticipate to hit a little bit of lunch crowd. Not to worry, the pleasant and helpful staff will certainly do their best to ensure that service moves as quickly as possible. Of course you can always call in your order ahead of time too!
My absolute favorite lunch time treat from Porta Via is the Roasted Turkey Sandwich with Garlic Aoli, don’t forget to add bacon and a Dr. Pepper! Yum, haven’t had one yet that I didn’t like!
There are a variety of Sandwiches, Paninis, Specialty Sandwiches, Pastas and much much more to choose from. They also have a great build your own salad bar and desserts galore!
You’ll walk in for lunch and walk out with a grocery bag full of Italian specialty food items. Its hard to walk in there and NOT want to purchase all the items they have on display. Hmm… perhaps that’s just me walking in every time I’m hungry?
During the spring and summer seasons Porta Via offers Picnic boxes. There is a variety of sandwiches, salads, and antipasto selections to choose from and they feed up to 4 adults. Due to high demand picnic boxes must be ordered in advance.
Have you visited Porta Via lately? We’d love to hear what your favorite item on the menu is. I might even be tempted to venture away from my regular turkey & bacon to test it out!
