Looking for specific music records, used & new CDs, LPS, 45s, DVDs… everything in one place? If so, Canterbury Record Inc. is the right store for you!
Day 67 of 365 Things to do in Pasadena™ takes us to a great place for music lovers to satisfy their music tastes!
Canterbury Record Inc., a store located on 805 East Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, is a great place to spend hours searching through rare and interesting artists or bands! The company was founded by Leonard Gordon in 1956 and has been in Pasadena ever since!
This store is a place for people to browse and carouse through reasonably low priced used cds and records. Canterbury Record is run by down to earth, friendly people who will help you explore your music desires. If they don’t have what your looking for, then they promptly order it for you!
Like most record shops, they allow people to sell their used cds to them in return for store credit or cash.
If you like to spend time searching for rare records, or simply want to search for great classic music of the past century this is the place to be. This store also offers modern music of this era, but since cds are not very popular anymore, in my opinion, they are a little on the pricey side.
Overall, Canterbury Record Inc is a cute, vintage shop that is worth checking out. Come on… who doesn’t look cool walking out of this store holding a vintage Jazz record in their hand?
To wrap it all up, Canterbury Record Inc. is a nice getaway to the past when classic Rock n’ Roll records and even cds consumed our lives. As a reviewer on Yelp said, “When you buy a CD at those big box stores [Target, Best Buy, etc.], it’s like getting a dog at a puppy mill. You just don’t feel any love.” I think he stated that quite PERFECTLY!
Who doesn’t have fun searching for rare, cheap records for hours on in? If that sounds like you, take a look at this place!
