Mediterranean food anyone?
Day 84 of 365 things to do in Pasadena™ takes us to a mouthwatering Mediterranean Cafe in Pasadena!
This is a Mom n Pop shop so the cafe is small with indoor and outdoor seating.
They serve everything casual in styrofoam, paper, and plastic… so take-out is common.
The service is said to be lightning speed! You pay… and your food appears in less than 3 minutes!
Items to order at the Mediterranean:
1. Number one hit with Yelp fans is… strangely enough the GARLIC SAUCE. Take some garlic sauce and slab it on a pita, and that could very well be enough to satisfy you if you are looking for a snack. 🙂
2. Onto a main meal, check out… the CHICKEN SHAWERMA. You can order the pita wrap version or the plate version. The plate version comes with rice, a small salad, hummus, pita bread, a container of garlic sauce, hot spicy paste, and of course the tender, juicy chicken itself!
3. FALAFEL WRAP – perfect amount of crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside!
These three items are just a few specialties of this Pasadena cafe. Hummus, Beef and Lamb Kebabs, and their Greek Salad are also MAJOR HITS!
The only complaint most folks have about this little “hole in the wall” are their limited work hours. They open late and close somewhat early: Monday-Friday 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. and Saturday 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.
It is kind of easy to miss. Hidden behind a row of stores on Lake and lined up against the parking lot, you really have to be on on the look out!
Some people even say that this Pasadena Mediterranean Cafe has better food than Zankou Chicken! That definitely says something!
So come on out to 273 Shoppers Lane in Pasadena to have some delicious, well priced, healthy food at this small cafe! All of us at 365 Things To Do™ highly recommend it!
