We all know that the infamous Friday after Thanksgiving has become the shopping extravaganza of the year!
Day 193 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena invites you to the newest holiday shopping phenomenon.
This year, American Express Open and small businesses in our communities are teaming up for their Shop Small Business Saturday event.
What is small business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday is a national movement to recognize the importance of small businesses to the overall economy and local communities. It’s a day to support the small, independently owned businesses that we can’t live without.
Here are some facts that American Express has provided about Small Business:
◊ For every $100 spent at a local small business, $68 of it returns to the community.
◊ Small businesses represent 99.7% of all employer firms.
◊ For every year over the last decade 60-80% of new jobs were generated by small businesses.
If you are an American Express customer, you may be eligible to receive a $25 statement credit on a purchase of at least $25 at any locally owned independent small business that accepts American Express.
