In light of Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, Union Station Homeless Services are in the forefront, providing meals to the Greater Pasadena community. During these events, homeless men, women, children, low-income families, and people who have no where to go for the holidays will have the chance to enjoy a meal.
There are several ways to support this cause. You can donate a pie, canned food, bottled water and more or make a monetary contribution, as volunteer positions are filled for Thanksgiving. The one thing to note is that USHS, can no longer accept prepared food due to Health Department regulations. In other words; please don’t cook and bring it to the event. For Christmas Day there is still a chance to volunteer. Registration starts December 1st at 8 am. Check here for additional upcoming events.
Since 1973, USHS have been serving homeless and underprivileged people, with the mission to “help men, women and children rebuild their lives, and end homelessness.” Statistics from 2015, show that there are over 3000 homeless people in the San Gabriel Valley, on a single night. Operating nine programs throughout the San Gabriel Valley, USHS helps the homeless community become stable and self-sufficient.
Let’s come together and give our community a helping hand!
