Halloween is fast approaching!! That means that we will be seeking out activities that will be sure to offer thrills and chills!!
Below are a few activities in and around Pasadena that may not have you screaming and running away in fright, but they will be sure to offer wonderful entertainment on a cool autumn night…
Discovering the Arts
♦ Pasadena Art Weekend ♦
October 12th 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
ArtNight kicks off Pasadena ArtWeekend when 17 cultural institutions open their doors free of charge. Free shuttle service is available. Participating organizations for this event include Alliance de Francaise de Pasadena, Armory Center for the Arts, Art Center College of Design, artWORKS at Learning Works!, Kidspace Children’s Museum, Lineage Performing Arts Center, Norton Simon Museum, One Colorado, Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena Central Library, Pasadena City College, Pasadena Museum of California Art, Pasadena Museum of History, Pennington Dance Group, and Side Street Projects.
Saturday, October 13th 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Stroll through the open-air art fair of original works by 25 of Southern California’s best visual artists, selected by jury, showcasing their work in painting, sculpture, watercolor, photography, mixed media, ceramics, jewelry, drawings, and printmaking. Attend art discussions, participate in hands-on activities, take a self-guided gallery tour, and enjoy live entertainment.

Art of Food
Saturday, October 13 * 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
251 South Lake Avenue
Art of Food is South Lake Avenue’s free outdoor food and wine festival. Enjoy mouth-watering culinary creations from South Lake’s finest restaurants, raffle prizes, music, and a beer and wine garden.
At the “Taste of South Lake”, guests can enjoy mouth-watering offerings from the restaurants of South Lake Avenue, prizes, a special live cooking demo, a beer and wine garden, showcases from other South Lake Avenue businesses and live music performances by Dustbowl Revival, Jessica Fichot and Orgone.
This FREE outdoor festival will be held at the Corporate Center Pasadena located at 251 S. Lake Avenue, Pasadena and offers:
On October 14th come down and explore Pasadena’s Art Walk, on El Molino between Colorado and Green St. You will enjoy a lovely outdoor setting with a wide variety of hands on activities. You will discover an interactive artists’ village, readings entertainment and much more!
♦ Art on Palm ♦
2012 show has been cancelled… sorry!
1419 E Palm Street in Altadena
Encircled by ancient Oak trees, this rustic canyon is the setting for Art on Palm. Its beautiful views offer guests a delightful location to wander through and enjoy while also providing a stunning backdrop for the artists’ work. Local artists & artisans will display their latest creation in this secluded canyon garden for a one-day-only event. This show features ceramics, paintings, jewelry, woodcarvings, tea & body care, and a variety of other enchantments. A portion of the artists’ sales will be donated to Fisher House Foundation which provides support for wounded military personnel and their families. This event is free and street parking is available.

Friday, October 26th 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Orange Grove Park – 815 Mission Street, South Pasadena
This chilling event is sure to provide lots of spine-tingling fun! There will be a costume parade, terror-ific carnival games, balloon artists, face painting, arts & crafts, live entertainment and candy to sink your fangs into! Prizes and goodie bags will be available while supplies last. The event is free and there will be a variety a food available for purchase.

Old Town Pasadena – Saturday, October 31st 5:00p.m. – 8:00 pm.
- Free store-to-store trick-or-treating
- Free haunted photos at the One Colorado Courtyard
- Old Town Haunt open from 7:00-12:00pm midnight ($17 per person)
