Are you an NBA fan?
If you are, then there is no need to tell you that the NBA All Star Game is taking place this weekend at The Staples Center.Ā Downtown Los Angeles is the place to be!!!
But for those who aren’t glued to the T.V. during basketball season, day 280 of 365 Things To Do AROUND Pasadena wants to share with you some fun taking place at The Staples Center, LA Convention Center and LA Live this All Star Game Weekend.
Friday, February 18th is the Team Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Challenge Jam
NBA All-Star competitions will get underway on Friday, Feb 18, 2011, as the league’s top rookies and second-year players square off.
Tickets are available beginning February 17th at Ticketmaster.com
At the LA Convention Center, the Celebrity Game will be taking place on the 18th. There may be an unusually large volume of teenage girls tuning into this year’s game as Justin Beiber will be taking to the court! š
Another crowd pleaser taking place at the LA Convention Center on the 18th is the Nations Top Amateurs competing for $10,000 in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest! Tune in to see who will be taking home that cash prize.
Saturday, February 19 will be filled with All Star Activity:
Saturday night will bring about lots of high energy entertainment, there will be the Haier Shooting Stars competition, the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, the Foot Locker 3-Point Contest, and of course the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.
Of course Sunday, February 20th is the big game!
Who will be victorious this year? East? West? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Also do not miss the Time Warner Cable’s 2000 sq. ft. booth during the weekend-long NBA Jam Session festival at the LA Convention Center.Ā There, customers and fans alike will be invited to āstep thru the screenā and experience the excitement of sitting behind the desk like a sportscaster, and calling the game winning play and last second shot. Participants will be able to see what itās like to be a ālive sportscasterā at an interactive sportscaster desk, where they will be taped in HD and streamed across multiple monitors within the booth and posted in Time Warner Cableās YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/TimeWarnerCable.
Either way, downtown Los Angeles will be quite the happening scene this weekend.
Do you have a favorite place to visit while you are in LA Live area?
I had the wonderful pleasure of getting to visit LA Live and take in a Kings game the week of Christmas.
It was beautiful!
There are lots of shops and restaurants to peek into and, of course, the holiday outdoor ice skating rink was a real treat.
We look forward to hearing about your LA Live experience.
