The 34th Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is heading our way Saturday, April 30th!
Day 351 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena® has you celebrating along the streets of Pasadena in a Doo Dah kind of way!
Daring to go where no parade has gone before? This year’s Pasadena Doo Dah Parade will again bring its own brand of raucous eccentricity to East Pasadena, after its successful relocation last year. Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, the Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade began as a grassroots event in 1978 to gain national attention for its eccentric and often, irreverent satire.
The parade which has spawned numerous off-beat “replicate parades” across the country was named by Readers Digest as “America’s Best Parade,” and was recently featured in the book 50 Places You Must Visit Before You Die!
Event Location: East Pasadena, between Altadena Dr. and San Gabriel Blvd.
The parade will be kicking off at 11:00 am.
Bring your lawn chairs and be ready to take in the show!
There will be plenty of free parking available and there is no cost to attend.
There will also be quite a few after parade celebrations taking place.
∞The Official Doo Dah After Party will be held at The American Legion∞
179 N Vinedo St. (2 blocks from the parade at Vinedo & Walnut) there will be a $5 cover charge for the event.
Additional celebrations will be taking place at the following locations:
♣ Plate 38
♣ Poo Bah Records
♣ The Colorado Bar
They will be offering food and beverage specials.
Have you ever attended a Doo Dah Parade? How about participated in one?
We’d love to hear about your experience!
We wish you all a safe Doo Dah-ing weekend.
This just goes to show that you never know what you can encounter on a day in Pasadena! 🙂
