As if living in Pasadena during the summer could get any better, how does a month of free movie screenings sound!? The Old Pasadena Film Festival is an annual summer film event that’s goal is to celebrate films and showcase a variety of different movies, from classics to cult favorites.
FUN FACT: Having twenty-one screenings between July 9th and August 1st makes this the largest open-air film festival in California, drawing tons of people for the local area.
With movies like Westside Story and Romeo + Juliet, the festival provides a diverse and exciting lineup of famous films at different venues all over Pasadena. Did I mention these venues are (for the most part) all outdoors? Since all the movies are being screened after 7:00 PM, you will get to enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather and relax with your family and friends. On the last night of the festival, Barbarella, a French/Italian science fiction film, will be screened at Central Park. It is highly recommended you show up in your best space gear so you can enter the costume contest for a chance to win $250!!! The last day will be hosted by our very own Mr. Pasadena (Michael Calderon) and will have food trucks + music from the local DJ’s of Pasadena.
