Do you have plans for Father’s Day this weekend? Well here’s an event you definitely don’t want to miss! On Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15 the Pasadena Chalk Festival will once again take place at the Paseo Colorado between 10am-7pm. It’s viewed by more than 100,000 visitors and is a unique presentation of many talented artists!
The Pasadena Chalk Festival will welcome more than 600 artists to make the ground come life through their imagination and artistic skills. You will witness the live creation of works of art in many different styles from socially relevant, 3D, contemporary, animation and more. Our team has attended the festival in the past years and will of course be there this weekend too!
Bring your family and enjoy live music, shop and dine. Not to forget, Sunday is Father’s day and all children are welcome to create Father’s Day cards at the Kids Chalkland. For all the dads and car enthusiast there will be a Pasadena Police Classic Car Show on Sunday from 10am-3pm.
The festival benefits the community arts programs of the Light Bringer Project, a Pasadena-based organization founded in 1990. It started off with the founders exploring the historic contribution that artists, architects and craftsmen made to the local environment. Inspired by the artistic history they began to create ways to incorporate art into the community. Today the Light Bringer Project provide their art and educational programs to underserved youth in the greater Pasadena and Los Angeles Area. They are an award-winning organization and has received the Gold Crown Award from the Pasadena Arts Council as well as the award of Outstanding Service from the City of Pasadena Arts Commission.
