I recently wrote about the announcement of the 2018 Royal Court of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses (PTOR).
By tomorrow, the selection of the 100th Rose Queen will be known to all. Until then, you & I can have some fun trying to guess who will be named the Queen.
Here are the possibilities. The 7 Princesses, only 1 of which will be selected as the Queen of the Royal Court: Alexandra Marie Artura, Savannah Rose Bradley, Lauren Elizabeth Buehner, Georgia Jane Cervenka, Julianne Elise Lauenstein, Isabella Marie Marez, and, Sydney Grace Pickering.
To help with your guess here is a link to more information on each of the girls: 2018 PTOR Royal Court.
Although, I have met and spoke, briefly, to each Princess of the 2018 Royal Court, my own guess will be based on not much more information than what you have: information available online and from the PTOR, visual and non-verbal observations.
The Queen & Royal Court committee of the PTOR will base their decision on much more exposure, knowledge and personal observation of the Princesses, of course. A key factor will be what they observe from each of the girls at a weekend retreat in Newport Beach.
Folks, we have much less knowledge to go on! My own track record on guessing the Queen has been very poor: just 2 from the last 10 years. Vanessa Manjarrez – the Queen of the 2013 PTOR – was the last time I was right.
So, my guesses are it will be either:
Isabella Marez of La Salle High School, or, Syndey Pickering from Arcadia High School
Even with 2 guesses my track record has been very poor.
(L to R) (L to R) Julianne Lauenstein (La Cañada High School); Syndey Pickering (Arcadia High School); Savannah Bradley (Pasadena High School); Georgia Cervenka (La Cañada High School); Lauren Buehner (Arcadia High School); Isabella Marez (La Salle High School); Alexandra Artura (Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy) (La Cañada High School); Syndey Pickering (Arcadia High School); Savannah Bradley (Pasadena High School); Georgia Cervenka (La Cañada High School); Lauren Buehner (Arcadia High School); Isabella Marez (La Salle High School); Alexandra Artura (Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy)
Which 1 of these 2 will be the Queen? Well, I’ve learned there is no known logic for the PTOR selection. I’ll just say from my experience of all these girls, the two I choose seem to display the most leadership, openness, energy, and personality of the group. But, I can, easily understand any of the others making Queen.
Readers: it’s your turn. Which of these wonderful young ladies will be the 2018, and 100th, Queen of the Tournament of Roses is …………. ??
